ST THOMAS SQUARE

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
2021

London's verdant havens are often marred by barriers like fences and gates, isolating them from the bustling streetscape. While the visual link persists, the spaces themselves languish in abandonment, cut off and uninviting. This urban disconnect has unfortunately fostered a surge in criminal activity and public disturbances around these neglected areas.

Our initiative seeks to rejuvenate these public spaces, bridging the divide with thoughtful design and strategic programming. Introducing a series of modular units nestled amidst the foliage, we ensure minimal disruption to the canopy while maximizing functionality. Varied in size and conical in shape, these modules harmonize with the natural environment, offering adaptable spaces tailored to diverse public needs. Carefully sited to accommodate existing root systems, our approach seamlessly integrates with the landscape, revitalizing these once-forgotten corners of the city.
