IN COLLABORATION WITH DAVID BARAEV

For the new building of the Sara Hilden Art Museum in the Town of Tampere in Finland, 8-) are proposing a building reminiscent of the rich brick building heritage of Tampere.
The galleries are interlocking and develop spacial tention in the circuit.

While the street facade is strict and rectangular and blends in with the surrounding, the parc side is opening up and creating a more varied and animated landscape. Precicse, large opening in the facade are creating a connection to the beautiful surrounding of the old parc.

The extreduded volumes are developing over 2 floors. The groundfloor is reserved to public functions and temporary exhibitions, the upper floor is showing pieces from the museum collection.

The structure is inteded to be out of timber with large spaning beams which integrate the technical all the technical appliances and garuantee a steady cimate. The Facade is out of glossy, dark bricks.
